Aineamani drew this house as a student at the Land of Living Hope in Uganda — a school and residential community for Batwa children in southwestern Uganda. A house is a significant subject for a Batwa child. The Batwa were displaced from their ancestral forest home in 1991; the Land of Living Hope represents stability and belonging for children who grew up without it.
